DESCRIPTION
The MA911B/2 probe is lab grade, gel-filled pH probe for use with Milwaukee Monitors and Controllers.
DESIGN FEATURES
Top features include:
DOUBLE JUNCTION
The double junction junction design reduces the risk of clogging.
SPHERICAL GLASS TIP
The sperical glass tip provide the largest possible surface area for faster results.
RESIN BODY
The resin body is tough to withstand accidental knocks and also protects the glass sensing bulb.
EXTENDED CABLE
Offers a 6.6 feet cable for increased flexibility in measuring.
USE AND CARE
pH meters usually start performing poorly because of problems with the probe. The two parts of the pH probe that cause problems are the glass sensing bulb and the reference junction.
SENSING BULB
The glass bulb loses sensitivity with use and will eventually fail. This is true of all pH probes.
REFERENCE JUNCTION
The reference junction is a small hole that allows the meter to compare the sample to a reference. The reading is generated based on the electrical difference between the sample and reference. If the junction hole gets clogged, the pH probe will no longer function.
You can extend the life of your pH electrode in the following ways.
STORAGE
The pH probe needs to be kept hydrated. Long periods of dry storage will damage the sensitivity of the probe. Allowing the probe to dry out may also result in the junction hole getting clogged.
Storing in pH probe storage solution or pH calibration buffers will help address both these issues. Do not store in tap water and DI water. This will damage the sensitivity of the probe.
The best way to store the probe is with the probe's cap filled with storage solution or calibiration buffer and the cap tightened to prevent leakage. It is also recommended that to store the electrode upright to further reduce the potential for leakage.
CLEANING
Residue from the sample can impact the sensitivity of the sensing bulb and block the junction. This is especially true if the sample has a lot of organic material. We recommend regularly soaking your electrode in cleaning solution.
CALIBRATION
The pH sensing bulbs become less sensitive over time so make sure that you are calibrating regularly to keep your PRO pH meter accurate. Also, calibrate after cleaning or a long period of storage.

Description MA9011 is a reagent grade pH and ORP electrode fill solution that contains 3.5M KCl. This fill solution is specifically formulated for double junction electrodes. Double junction electrodes have two chambers. The inner chamber has an Ag/AgCl reference wire and a KCl + AgCl fill solution. The outer chamber has a KCl fill solution. The KCl in the outer chamber is silver free removing the risk of silver precipitation which can happen easily in the presence of heavy metals and Tris biological buffer. This precipitate can clog the outer reference junction resulting in instability and a slow response time. Refillable electrodes need to have their electrolyte level checked before use. If the level is low, refill with electrode to the correct level with the MA9011 solution to ensure correct operation. Maintaining the electrolyte solution ensures that there is sufficient head pressure so that the reference electrolyte flows into the sample resulting in a faster response. How to Use the MW802 PRO
Calibrate
with standard buffer solutions
Calibration is a crucial step in ensuring that the MW802 provides accurate
readings. To begin, you’ll need to use standard calibration solutions with
known pH, EC, and TDS values. These solutions will help set the meter to
give precise readings for your specific measurements. Calibration should
be performed regularly, especially if the meter is used frequently or
exposed to harsh conditions. It's a good practice to calibrate before each
testing session to guarantee the most accurate results.
Submerge
the probe in the water or nutrient solution
After calibration, place the meter’s probe into the sample you intend to
test, whether it’s water, nutrient solution, or soil mixture. Make sure
the probe is fully submerged in the sample for consistent measurements.
For nutrient solutions or water, ensure that the probe is immersed deep
enough to measure the entire solution, allowing for accurate EC, pH, and
TDS readings.
Gently
stir for an accurate reading
Gently stir the probe within the sample to ensure the meter gets an even,
stable reading. Stirring helps to distribute any inconsistencies in the
solution, such as localized differences in pH or nutrient concentration,
ensuring that the reading you get is representative of the entire sample.
Stirring should be done slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the probe
or disrupting the sample too much.
Adjust
pH and nutrient levels as needed
Based on the readings provided by the MW802, you may need to adjust the
pH, EC, or TDS levels of your solution. If, for example, the pH is too
high or too low, you can add pH up or pH down solutions to bring it into
the desired range. For EC or TDS adjustments, add the appropriate nutrient
solution to ensure that plants receive the necessary levels of minerals
and nutrients.
Clean
and store the probe properly for longevity
After each use, clean the probe thoroughly to avoid the buildup of dirt,
salts, or other contaminants. Proper cleaning ensures that the probe
remains accurate and prevents it from becoming clogged, which could affect
its readings. Once cleaned, store the probe in an appropriate solution
(such as a buffer or storage solution) to keep it hydrated and prevent any
damage. Avoid storing it in just water, as this can lead to contamination
and shorten the lifespan of the probe.
Proper Meter Care & Maintenance
Essential Tips for Long-Lasting Performance:
• Store the probe properly in buffer or storage solution
(MA9015, not water)
Storing the probe in a buffer or storage solution ensures it remains moist and
calibrated, extending the lifespan of the probe. Never store it in pure water,
as it can cause the probe to dry out, leading to inaccurate readings and damage
over time. Buffer solutions are designed to maintain the probe’s calibration
and functionality.
• Clean regularly by soaking in pH and EC cleaning
solution (MA9016)
Over time, the probe can accumulate deposits from samples such as salts, oils,
or other contaminants. To keep the probe in optimal condition, regularly clean
it by soaking in a cleaning solution specifically designed for pH and EC
probes, such as the MA9016. This ensures that any buildup is effectively
removed, helping maintain the meter’s performance and accuracy.
• Calibrate after cleaning and before testing to maintain

regularly by soaking in pH and EC cleaning solution: Regular cleaning
is vital for maintaining the performance of your MW801. Soak the probe in
a pH and EC cleaning solution to remove any buildup of dirt, oils, or
salts that could interfere with the meter’s readings. Over time, residue
can accumulate on the probe’s sensors, leading to inaccurate results.
Cleaning the probe after each use (or at least weekly, depending on usage)
helps maintain its sensitivity and reliability.
Calibrate
after cleaning and before testing to maintain accuracy: Cleaning can
slightly alter the probe’s performance, so it's important to recalibrate
the meter after cleaning. Calibration ensures that the meter is still
giving you accurate readings, especially if there are any slight changes
in sensor response due to cleaning. Always calibrate the meter before
taking measurements to ensure that the results are reliable.
Gently
stir the probe in the sample for the most reliable results: As
mentioned in the usage instructions, gently stirring the probe in the
solution ensures that the reading is consistent and accurate. It also
helps avoid air bubbles or local temperature variations that can lead to
discrepancies in the readings. This simple step ensures that your results
are as precise as possible, whether you’re measuring pH, EC, or TDS.

• Calibrate after cleaning and before testing to maintain
accuracy
After cleaning the probe, always recalibrate the MW802 before using it for
measurements. Cleaning can alter the probe’s accuracy, and calibration ensures
that it provides reliable readings. Calibration should be done with fresh
standard buffer solutions to restore the meter to its optimal performance.
• Gently stir the probe in the sample for the most
reliable results
When measuring, it’s essential to stir the probe gently in the sample to obtain
the most accurate and consistent readings. Stirring helps to evenly distribute
any variations within the solution, ensuring that the measurement reflects the
overall conditions. Avoid vigorous shaking, which could disrupt the measurement
process or damage the probe.
By following these detailed instructions for use and
maintenance, you’ll ensure that your MW802 PRO remains accurate, reliable, and
in excellent condition, giving you the best results for your water or nutrient
solution analysis over time.

The sperical glass tip provide the largest possible surface area for faster results.
RESIN BODY
The resin body is tough to withstand accidental knocks and also protects the glass sensing bulb.
EXTENDED CABLE

Milwaukee solutions are designed to help you achieve reliable and repeatable pH measurements while extending the life of your electrode.
